In fact, many of our catalog products began as projects for a specific customer and then expanded to a wide range of products. Customers are usually unwilling to participate in customized design because they anticipate higher costs, one-time engineering costs, or longer delivery times. However, in reality, most projects utilize existing materials and platforms, so delivery times, costs, and one-time engineering costs are not affected. Although we have an extensive catalog of power magnetic device products, it still often requires innovative customization or application specific design, mainly due to:

• Power topology

• Input voltage range

• Operating frequency

• Output voltage and power requirements

• Mechanical performance and thermal restraint requirements

These customizations or application specific designs are usually simple adjustments to existing catalog solutions, although customers are concerned that 'customization' implies high costs, long delivery times, and one-time engineering costs, this is not the case when utilizing existing platforms and materials. However, some designs may require the use of new designs made of customized materials (iron cores, coils, and plastics), in which case any one-time engineering costs, prices, or delivery time impacts need to be notified to our customers in advance.
